Hunter said it best, it’s the little things we do every day that rack up a big bill quickly. Watch out little things, you have met your match!
1.Kick the can and the bottle!
The average person spends about $350 on drinking soda each year. If you drink at least one bottled water a day, that’s about $485 each year. Now think if you were to stop both of those habits… What could you do with $835? Buy a reusable water bottle and refill on soda and water from home!
2.Reduce eating out!
I hate to say it but eating out includes the dollar menu. On average we spend $10 a day going out for lunch. Pack your own lunch for school or work & don’t be tempted when someone invites you to go eat out! Fellas – you’d be surprised how many ladies would prefer for you to prepare a home-cooked meal over taking them out to dinner!
3.Breakup with expensive coffee! (sniff sniff :()
We get it; we love coffee too! We understand why it’s oh-so-hard to quit the vanilla latte in the morning or the frozen slushy after school. However, at $3 per cup, per day… That’s over $1,000 for coffee year to support this romance. We’re brewing and mixing on our own. Check out these money saving machines (links) .. it’s for the best.
4.Just can’t bear to break any of the habits listed above?
Ok, fair enough. Then get a part time job at a restaurant or coffee shop. Nearly all restaurants will offer an employee discount and some might even let you eat for free. Plus you’ll earn a few extra bucks in the process!
